which is how some [prophecies] are explained in the Apocalypse.14 The spirit of prophecy touches the unaware, however, in the manner of Caiaphas who, when he was the high priest, prophesied of the Lord that it was expedient for one man to die for the whole people, although he intended something else in the words that he spoke, which he was unaware that he was not speaking in his own person.15 There are numerous examples in the sacred books, and I am offering the most notable instances to Your Prudence.
